Prof K. Thyagarajan – IIT, Delhi

Prof. K Thyagarajan received his M. Sc in Physics and Ph. D. in Fiber Optics from IIT Delhi. He joined IIT Delhi as a faculty member in 1977. He has authored more than 100 research articles and 9 books. He has visited and worked in several international research institutes. He was elected as a Fellow of the Optical Society of America in 2005. He was awarded Officer dans l’ordre des Palmes Academiques by the French Government in 2003 and Lucent Technologies Finolex-Voice & Data Fibre Optic Person of the Year Avvard in 1997

Prof M.R. Shenoy – IIT, Delhi

Prof. M.R. Shenoy received his M. Sc. Degree from Mysore University and Ph. D. in the field of Fiber and Integrated Optics from IIT Delhi. He joined IIT Delhi as faculty member in Physics in 1988. He was a visiting professor at University of Glasgow, UK in 1990. He has visited University of Nice, France on several occasions. He has authored many research articles and books

Dr. Anil Prabhakar – IIT, Chennai

Dr.Anil Prabhakar, obtained a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Carnegie Mellon Univ. in 1997 with a dissertation on nonlinear effects in magnetostatic-wave optical devices. Previous degrees include a M.S. in Physics, a M.S. in Elec. Engg (Fiber Optic and Microwave Communication) and a B.Tech in Engg. Physics (IIT-B, 1992). Between 1997 and 2002, he was a design engineer working on magnetic recording heads at MKE-Quantum Components, Colorado and then at ReadRite Corporation, California.

Dr. Balaji Srinivasan – IIT, Chennai

Balaji obtained his Ph.D in 2000 from the University of New Mexico, USA. Prior to that, he obtained his M.S. in Electrical Engineering and BE. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He worked as a Senior Development Scientist for 3 years at Corning Incorporated, USA. He joined IIT Chennai in 2004. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 journals and international conference publications. He also has five patents to his credit. He is the winner of the prestigious Collegiate Inventor Award in 2000, New Focus Student Award in 1999, and is a frequent reviewer for journals published by the Optical Society of America and IEEE.

Dr. Ramanand Tewari

Ramanand obtained a PhD in Photonics from Indian Indian Insitute of Technology Delhi in 1985. From 1986 to 1988 he was a Post-Doctoral fellow and in 1999 a visiting professor at Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He was a faculty at Physics Department, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur from 1994 to 2000. From 2001 to 2003, he worked with a Canadian photonics company and since 2003, has been working with an American photonics company. He has a wide variety of hi-tech experience in optics, photonics and optical communications. He has co-authored a book, numerous scientific research papers in journals and conferences and many scientific and technical articles and presentations for worldwide customers. Ramanand is the recipient of young scientist award of International Union of Radio Science (URSI) for the year 1990. Ramanand is a citizen of Canada and lives in Ottawa, Ontario.
